Just in time for Valentine's Day, the website HouseMethod.com has released a new piece of research on the Most Popular Romantic Comedies of the Century in each state.

Let's start with the qualifying part..."of the Century". That means this century, so since the year 2000. Which eliminates all-time classics like Annie Hall, 10 Things I Hate Abotu You, Pretty Woman, Sleepless In Seattle, Say Anything, Pretty In Pink, and more.

So the team at HouseMethod got to work, and here's what they were thinking when they put the research together:

"Our team at House Method decided to take a closer look at rom-coms and figure out what the most popular romantic comedy is in each state. To get this data, we surveyed 4,629 Americans and asked them to choose their favorite romantic comedy of the century."

Well, what they found is that Louisiana is one of 4 states in the US who loves the movie 13 Going On 30 more than any other romantic comedy. Here's a look at all of the states...

The other three states that love 13 Going On 30 are Alabama, Oregon, and Washington.

The biggest romantic comedy (since 2000) in the US is The 40-Year-Old Virgin, which is the favorite in a whopping 19 states. The second movie on the list is Bridesmaids, which is on top in 11 states. Louisiana's favorite, 13 Going On 30 is tied for third with 4 states, the other movie in third place is 500 Days of Summer.

Interestingly, the top two movies on the list are both rated R films, while Louisiana's choice, 13 Going On 30, is the highest ranked non-R rated movie on the list.
