While the State of Louisiana is working through it's response to the COVID-19 outbreak, another issue is rising. Literally.

The National Weather Service says the Red River in Shreveport is just under Flood Stage. As of this morning, March 24th, the Red River sits at 29.38 feet. The minor Flood Stage of the river is 30 feet.

The current weather forecast shows a very slight chance of rain daily until Saturday, with a moderate chance for rain on Saturday. Unless those rain chances increase, there's probably not a chance of the Red River reaching Major Flood Stage, of 33 feet, in the next week.

The Red River has had multiple flooding issues over the last few years, with the worst flood in recent memory being the 2015 flood.
