The Sony Walkman was introduced in 1979. I was groundbreaking technology at the time.  An AM/FM radio you could clip to your belt. They later added a cassette player. How cool!

If you're under 30, you're probably rolling your eyes right now. Yes, we have phones that are more sophisticated computers than the ones used to land men on the moon. They do everything but brush our teeth.

There's a lot of nostalgia attached to the Walkman for those of us with a few more years under our belt. The electronics giant is bringing an updated Walkman back for its 40th anniversary.

It has a digital amplifier. There's a cassette interface for nostalgia buffs. It even has a processor to make digital audio sound like a vinyl record. Will it sell? Who knows? Nobody really NEEDS one. I still have a Walkman.
