However, on the westbound side, all traffic lanes will be closed in the construction area to allow the contractor to install new interstate signs and trusses.

Here's The Alternate Route That The DOTD Will Mark For The Area

Signs will be in place directing traffic to the alternate route: Traffic will be detoured at Traffic Street exit ramp to US 80 West bound, to Common Street to I-20. Any thru traffic is advised to use the I-220 bypass.

This work will be performed weather permitting, so be prepared for the possibility of rescheduling or an extended work time should inclement weather prohibit the work from being completed during the scheduled work period.

The DOTD has issued a safety reminder to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
