Traffic Warning! Portion Of I-49 In Shreveport Now Closed

Granted, Louisiana roads are in dire need of repair, but it would appear that due to the sheer amount of road construction in the area at the present, it's almost impossible to dodge the construction zones.

Add to the list a portion of I-49 that will be under construction today and tomorrow and then again next Wednesday and Thursday.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has issued a notification that today, Wednesday, July 27 and tomorrow, Thursday, July 28, the outside southbound lane of I-49 at the Hollywood/Pierremont Ave Exit (Exit 203), as well as the exit itself, in Shreveport will be closed. DOTD has stated the closure is needed to allow maintenance crews to be able to perform roadway repair.

The scheduled construction with the necessary lane/ramp closure will begin at 6:00 am this morning and weather permitting, is scheduled to reopen at 4:00 pm tomorrow.

And again next week, on Wednesday, August 3rd and Thursday, August 4, the two inside lanes of I-49 southbound will be closed for roadway repair. Exit 203 will remain open during this work.
