With the latest round off Coronavirus relief coming from the federal government, a small sigh of relief can be coming from the masses. Now, news of an even bigger sigh from those that have lost their job during this pandemic.
Thanks to the last minute relief act signed on December 27th, the roughly 161,400 out of work Louisiana residents will continue to receive $300 more per week on their unemployment checks. This "bonus" is currently slated to expire on March 13th.
The maximum payment Louisiana residents could receive before the crisis was $247 for 11 weeks. According to the report from the Advocate regarding the additional funds provided during this crisis as part of this relief project - this number in now $547 per week.
