If you're like me, you can't wait to get the shot that will allow me to finally see my family.  It's been more than a year since I've hugged my mother or tried to wrestle my older brother to the ground - and, that's way too long.  Luckily, there's plenty of vaccines to go around and the eligibility has opened up to pretty much any one 16 years old and up.

To make the COVID-19 vaccine even easier for vets, the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport will be offering the shot(s) on a walk-in basis.  According to the ArkLaTex Homepage, the vaccination will be made available without an appointment or veterans, their spouses, and their caregivers as long as they are enrolled in the VA system.

Of course, everyone in the Shreveport-Bossier City area who is 16 years of age and older can get one of the 3 approved vaccines.  Almost every single health system, clinic, pharmacy, and grocery store within a 100 mile radius is offering to inoculate you.  At this point, it really at your convenience to protect your self and those around you from one of the most devastating diseases in human history.

LSU Health Shreveport has just released their latest schedule for the vaccinations and it is robust!  If you'd like to get your shot from them, check out the latest on their availability here.
