What Did This Shreveport Writer Contribute To The Mandalorian Story
One of the coolest people I've ever met in Shreveport has one of the coolest resumes ever. Not only does he work on video games, but he's an author too...and he's worked on Star Wars.
MIND. BLOWN.
His name is Walt Williams, and a little while back I got to meet him during a Star Wars event at The Robinson Film Center. He's worked on some big video game titles, including BioShock 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Evolve, and The Darkness. But the big titles are the main points for this story...Star Wars Battlefront II and Star Wars Squadrons.
Williams was a writer on both, picking up a Senior Writer credit on Squadrons.
THERE ARE HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE MANDALORIAN ON DISNEY+, SO BACK AWAY IF YOU'RE NOT CAUGHT UP.

This week's episode of The Mandalorian on Disney+ had a pretty big scene that revolved around something major from Star Wars Battlefront II, meaning there's some strong ties to Williams now.
In this week's episode, Din Djarin (the real name of The Mandalorian) and Mayfeld (played by Bill Burr) are talking to an Imperial Officer. (you can read a lot more about the scene, and how the actor involved ties back to Shreveport here) During this conversation, they talk about Operation: Cinder.
In Battlefront II, Operation: Cinder is a major plot point. Now it appears that it might become something bigger inside the Star Wars live action universe. Maybe in The Mandalorian, or maybe in one of the many new announced Star Wars live action projects...like maybe Rogue Squadron?
No matter where it goes from here, I just think its amazing to have something that a Shreveport guy worked on land inside the hottest current show, and inside the project that is turning around the Star Wars franchise to a whole new level!
