There are two major discussions happening in Shreveport right now, smokable marijuana in Lousiana and Shreveport's Amazon plant.

Several patients in Louisiana are celebrating the newest law to hit Louisiana. Gov. John Bel Edwards has signed into law a bill that expands the legal forms of marijuana for medical use. Patients that reside in Louisiana will be able to buy up to two-and-a-half ounces of marijuana flower every two weeks.

Is Amazon 420 Friendly?

In June of 2021, the CEO of Amazon's Worldwide Consumer Division Dave Clark turned a lof of heads when he said that Amazon was 420 friendly. Well, he didn't say that exactly he did say that Amazon would quit drug testing for marijuana.

"In the past, like many employers, we’ve disqualified people from working at Amazon if they tested positive for marijuana use. However, given where state laws are moving across the U.S., we’ve changed course. We will no longer include marijuana in our comprehensive drug screening program for any positions not regulated by the Department of Transportation..."

Keep in mind, there are some positions that are still regulated by the Department of Transportation, those folks still will be drug tested for marijuana. What about  "impairment checks"? These are only conducted after any kind of accident, however, they are mainly looking for alcohol with impairment checks.

If you plan to get a job at the Amazon plant in Shreveport and you have a medical marijuana card, and your job doesn't consist of driving, puff puff pass without worry.
