A winter storm warning has been issued for freezing rain and sleet for our area and goes into effect this evening, Wed. March 4 at 6PM and expires Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 9AM. 

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, rain will transition to freezing rain and eventually to sleet and snow as cold air spreads over the area. Winter precipitation in the form of freezing rain is expected during the evening hours followed by a transition to sleet and snow after midnight. Possible freezing rain and sleet accumulations of up to a quarter of an inch and snow accumulations of up to one inch will make driving conditions hazardous.

A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice are expected or are occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This can make travel very hazardous or impossible.

Affected areas in the warning include: Upshur County, Texas; Bossier Parish, La.; Webster Parish, La.; Harrison County, Texas; Camp County, Texas; Wood County, Texas; Marion County, Texas; Caddo Parish, La.
