Federal Prosecutors have until June 30th to ask for a delay in the corruption trial of former Bossier Parish Sheriff Larry Deen. The Attorneys and Judge in the case had a private meeting Tuesday June 22nd to discuss details of the case.

Last week, a the key government witness in the case, Mary McBroome, was found dead of a gun shot wound on an oilfield road in Caddo Parish. At this time, the coroner has not stated if foul play was involved in her death. Authorities say no suicide was found at the scene.

Deen and the owners of Blakey Auto Plex are facing corruption charges for allegedly profiting from illegal car deals. McBroome used to work in the office at Blakeys during the time of the alleged illegal activity. Deen and the Blakeys deny any wrongdoing. The trail is currently scheduled to start August 15th.
