Saturday, the Louisiana Knights of Thor held its first-ever KoT Fest at Leather Shack on Greenwood road, and raised about $1,000 for Camren Garza and his family. As I've mentioned in previous posts, Camren is a local 14-year-old who's been battling cancer. This money will help with the mounting expenses the Garzas are dealing with in getting Camren to Dallas, Texas, for doctor visits and treatments.

As the group's Events Chair(wo)man, I'd like to send out thanks to EVERYONE who made this such a success...Louisiana KoT members for volunteering their time, Doghouse Entertainment, Leather Shack (for providing the huge space for us to hold this thing), 99x (for all the on-air mentions), any other sponsors I might have forgotten, ALL the bands who played the show (and there were many...and no cancellations!!), and -- most especially -- those of you who took the time to come out and show your support.  You've really made a difference to a local family, and we appreciate you SO MUCH!

We're going to start doing these all-ages benefit shows pretty regularly. So stay tuned for all the details...I know it's going to be GREAT!
