The amount of jobs pouring into the Shreveport - Bossier City area is astounding.  In the last few months alone, we've seen big job announcements from the recently announced ACT call center, the expansion at Ternium USA, the new sawmill in Bossier, and the gigantic Amazon center.  It looks like the train of awesome employment opportunities will continue to roll thanks to the latest announcement from electricity supplier AEP.

According to a report from US News, Ohio-based American Electric Power (AEP) is building a massive $100 million facility in Shreveport that will add even more jobs to our area.  These aren't just good paying positions, they're great paying positions!  The average annual salary for the 20 expected openings is reported to be $115,000!

A news release from Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards points out that the facility will help bolster our power grid with a new and powerful substation featuring cutting-edge equipment.  It seems that this project is a priority for the company that the handles electric power needs for a pretty big chunk of the ArkLaTex as construction is set to begin sometime in the next 2 months and is slated to be done by mid-2023.

AEP reportedly received a $1 Million incentive from the state to help with infrastructure costs.
