In case you haven't heard, rock and roll icon Alice Cooper is coming to Shreveport this August for Geek'd Con. Which is pretty awesome. If you want to go to the show, you can find ticket info here.

But, being a huge Alice Cooper fan, I've been listening to a lot of songs and watching a lot of videos online. And during my trip down the Alice Cooper rabbit hole, I stumbled upon an Alice Cooper story that I've never heard before. One that features another Shreveport icon - Elvis Presley. For those that may not know, Elvis became a house hold name in large part to his appearances on the Louisiana Hayride right here in Shreveport.

Anyway, Alice's story about meeting Elvis for the very first time may be one of the GREATEST stories ever told. And, no, I'm not overselling it. I'm not sure there's too many introductory meetings involving guns, judo and Liza Minnelli. And that's just a quick overview.

So, here's the story about Alice meeting Elvis for the first time in 1970.

Alice also has some pretty fantastic stories involving Don Rickles and Frank Sinatra. If you'd like to meet Alice and hear some of his legendary stories first hand, you can totally do that! Tickets for Geek'd Con 2021 are on-sale now. You can find details on the show here and check out the full lineup (so far) below.

Legendary Musicians Who Rocked The Hirsch In Shreveport

Here's a sample of the legendary musical acts who have played Shreveport's Memorial Coliseum over the last 60 years. The Hirsch was basically the homefield for bands like Van Halen and ZZ Top, who regularly put the Hirsch near the top of their tours. For that reason, we're actually not going to feature them on this list, because they were basically "house bands" for Shreveport...and that's NOT a bad thing.
