Did the notion of an American Horror Story crossover season blow your mind? It’s all coming together, and Roanoke might be the centerpiece of it all, now that Sarah Paulson is confirmed to reprise her famous Asylum role in Season 6.

Where previously Paulson reprised her Season 1 role alongside her Season 5 character, creator Ryan Murphy revealed over Twitter that Seasons 2 and 6 would now share a major connection. We don’t know exactly how, but it seems Asylum survivor Lana Winters (presumably the modern day version) will cross paths with the Roanoke cast.

At a certain point, one presumes that Sarah Paulson will inevitably reprise all her roles, Orphan Black-style, though crossovers have been fairly limited in all six seasons. Paulson has only participated in one, reprising her role as Murder House psychic Billie Dean Howard (who incidentally first referenced the Roanoke story) for last year’s Hotel, though Freak Show also featured a number of Asylum characters.

In the meantime, American Horror Story: Roanoke will air its eighth episode this week, though we don’t know when to expect Lana Winters. Perhaps the final, premise-busting episode?
