Are You Going to the Pickle Parade in Texas This Weekend?
This Saturday, the Mansfield Pickle Queens will proudly present the 8th annual World's Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade. Obviously, after reading that first sentence alone - you're busy cancelling all of your plans for this weekend so you can attend. I approve of your immediate and irreversible reaction, and it's not just because a pickle parade in and of itself is a good enough reason not to go to your sister's wedding. It's because the whole weekend is dedicated to delicious pickles and St. Patty's Day (but mostly pickles).
The official title of the festival is: The World's Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade and Palooza, and it is nothing less than one and a half days of frivolity and fun in the form of beer keg races, corn-hole tournaments, live music, pickle juice drinking contests, a pickle playground for kids, pickle eating contests, and multiple pickle parades that celebrate the proud fact that Mansfield is the Pickle Capitol of Texas.
The theme of this year's festivities is "Moon rocks!" in honor of the 50th anniversary of the NASA moon landing - but don't let that fool you, it's all about the pickle. Check out the entire schedule and more details here.
