Chicago Open Air just passed, but now it's time for the music world to focus on the Houston area for the second annual Monster Energy Houston Open Air Festival. This year's event will take place Oct. 14 and 15 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlands, Texas, and while a majority of the lineup has already been announced, we can now reveal that Avenged Sevenfold has joined the bill, headlining the second date.

On Sunday, Avenged Sevenfold will get a chance to close out the show, with support from Stone Sour, Mastodon, Suicidal Tendencies, Steel Panther, Zakk Sabbath, August Burns Red, Power Trip, Radkey, Ded, Black Map and Palisades.

Tickets for Houston Open Air are on sale now. Head here to see the available ticket packages and pricing.

Last year, the inaugural Houston Open Air fest was plagued by severe weather problems, which forced the cancellations of several sets, including Avenged Sevenfold's headlining performance. The band scrambled and successfully pulled off a club show 15 miles away from the festival grounds, affording at least some fans the ability to catch the band. It looks like it's time for redemption in 2017 and this time A7X are armed with a host of new hits off their latest album, The Stage.
