Matt is a Bossier City Firefighter and Melissa is an art teacher at TL Rodes Elementary in Haughton. Having known these two for twenty-plus years, I can personally attest to the incredible character of these two.

However, they are currently fighting a battle that no one wants to fight. Melissa has cancer.

For the past couple of years, Melissa has been diagnosed with and is fighting multiple types of cancer.

Most recently, Melissa's battle is with liver cancer. Two cancer surgeries and several rounds of chemo has left this family with substantial medical bills.

Their friends, family and church family are holding several different types of fundraisers to help out. And tomorrow, Thursday, November 3rd, there's a chance for you to bless this awesome family and get a great meal.

From 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in front of the Bossier City Central Fire Station at 620 Benton Road, Bossier City Firefighters will be selling fried fish plates which includes fried fish, fries and hushpuppies to raise money for this much deserving family.

A minimum $10 donation is requested per plate.

For pre-orders of ten or more plates, call or text 318-458-3050. Pre-orders for schools to be ready for pick-up at 10:30 am. Cash and/or credit cards will be accepted on site or use the QR below for electronic payment.
