Shreveport is blessed with some of the most wonderful parades in the Ark-La-Tex. There is no competition when it comes to our parades, but if I had to pick the best parade in the Ark-La-Tex it's without a doubt the Krewe of Highland Parade.

A Mardi Gras parade that is kid-friendly and throws food at you? Oh yeah, this is the best day ever. The Krewe of Highland took to their Facebook page to say "The Official 2020 Highland Parade! Join us for our 25th annual Mardi Gras Parade! This parade uniquely traverses the amazing Historic Highland Neighborhood. This parade is kid-friendly."

It doesn't matter if it rains on our parade there will still be house parties and cookouts along the route. People will be holding up signs that they worked hard on in order to score those'unconventional' throws. Expect Moon Pies, Ramen noodles, hot dogs, spaghetti and meatballs, and anything that can be sold in bulk at Sam's.
