There was an earthquake in our region while you were sleeping. The United States Geological Survey says the quake measured 3.0 on the Richter scale which is a very mild tremor. It happened at about 2:30 Thursday morning.

The epicenter of the quake was in the Blanchard area.

KEEL News contacted the Caddo Sheriff's Office and they did receive a couple of calls from the Blanchard area about the shaking, but there have been no reports of any damage.

Earthquakes east of the Rocky Mountains are very rare and are most likely in east Texas.
