Fun Community Fiesta in Shreveport That Was Cancelled Is Back On

We all woke up to some sad news on Cinco De Mayo. We ended up dealing with a tornado watch and were keeping our eyes out for those severe storms in fact several Community Liaison Officers with Shreveport Police took to their Facebook pages to warn our community. There were fears of damaging winds, hail, isolated tornadoes, and flash flooding are all very possible.

What Did the Risk of Severe Weather Mean for Our Cinco De Mayo Plans?

Basically, it ruined our plans. A lot of us went and picked up Mexican food to go and called it a day. Many restaurants that had big tents set up outside still welcomed people inside the restaurant to party for Cinco De Mayo. Unfortunately, El Cabo Verde was one of the first restaurants to cancel their big fiesta since the party was in the park and scheduled to be outside. They promised a makeup day for festivities and the day is on the way.

El Cabo Verde Will Have a Huge Quince de Mayo Fiesta on May 15th.

Basically, we get to celebrate Cinco de Mayo twice this year and I am not mad about it. The event is free to the community. They plan to have all kinds of fun for your entire family and a mariachi band will be out there too.
