Shreveport Police K-9 Helps Arrest Escaped Inmate
On Wednesday, May 11th, 2022, around 4:30p.m., members of the Shreveport Police Department and the US Marshals Task Force arrested an inmate that was located in the 3500 block of Lakeland Avenue.
Cortez Belion (7/27/1999) was an inmate in the custody of Bossier Sheriff’s Office for felony charges stemming from an incident in Bossier City. On May 8th, 2022, Belion was transported to a Shreveport hospital for medical treatment. During this time Belion escaped from the custody of a private security company contracted by Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office. Shreveport Police Detectives and Agents with the US Marshal Task Force were able determine that the suspect was inside of a residence in the 3500 block of Lakeland Avenue.
The Shreveport Police K-9 unit was contacted and responded to the scene. Shreveport Police K-9 Enzo was able to assist in locating the suspect hiding in the residence. Belion was taken into custody without incident and charged with one count of aggravated escape.
