On October 31, 2021, at 12:30 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the 1000 block of Highland Avenue in reference to a juvenile prisoner escaping from a medical facility.

16-year-old Anthony Mandigo removed a window from his room and fled on foot. Mandigo had been adjudicated on charges of Armed Robbery in juvenile court and was sentenced to juvenile life. Mandigo pleaded guilty to the crimes in 2018 and was sentenced in 2019 for his part in the robbery of the Raceway gas station on North Market Street in Shreveport and his involvement in the killing of Lester McGee, a pizza delivery driver for Dominos.

After a lengthy search lasting over a week, on Tuesday (11/9/21) police were able to locate Mandigo hiding out in Texas.
