Fantasy Island is Making a Comeback
If you were a fan of seeing Ricardo Montalban and Herve Villechaize welcome extremely wealthy guests seeking adventure, romance, and more on Fantasy Island - you're in luck! The hit show that ran from 1977 to 1984 is now set to become a major motion picture! Entertainment firms Blumhouse and Sony Pictures announced that they will be making and releasing a full-fledged, theatrical version of the popular ABC program.
The exploits of Mr. Rourke and Tattoo will brought to the silver screen thanks to the directing efforts of Jeff Wadlow. That's the guy responsible for “Truth Or Dare” and “True Memoirs Of An International Assassin."
The New York Post reports that no release date or casting announcements have been made yet.
Fun Fact: The show was made by none other than Aaron Spelling (Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place). He pitched the show as a joke to ABC bosses, and they totally loved it!
