When Nirvana disbanded after the suicide of Kurt Cobain in April of 1994, Dave Grohl said that everybody figured he would just join another band and play drums the rest of his life.

What they didn't know was that Grohl could play guitar, he could sing and, most importantly, he could write.  He had written many songs during his tenure with Nirvana but he was so in awe of Kurt Cobain that he felt intimidated; therefore, he thought it best to keep his songs to himself.

After turning down an offer to become the permanent drummer for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Grohl entered the studios of Robert Lang and began laying down the tracks that would become the first album for a new band.  Except for one guitar part on the song "X-Static" Grohl played every instrument and sang every note on 15 songs.  Those songs would become the eponymous debut album of the newly christened Foo Fighters.

The rest, as they say, is history.  Since 1994 Dave Grohl and his band, Foo Fighters, have sold more than 12 million albums and won 11 Grammy Awards.  And on April 22, 2018, 99X is proud to present Foo Fighters in concert at CenturyLink Center in Bossier City.
