Super Bowl LVII is going to feature multiple players with ties to Louisiana. It will be interesting though, because normally the Louisiana ties to big games like this run through Baton Rouge, with so many LSU Tigers in the NFL every year. But it looks like this year's Super Bowl may only have one LSU Tiger playing, and that's a big maybe.

When the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles meet up in the Super Bow, KC's Clyde Edwards-Helaire may be the only former Tiger on the field. But he's been out since week 11 with a high ankle sprain. He did not get activated for the AFC Championship game, and may not be ready for the Super Bowl either. Philadelphia doesn't have a single LSU player on their roster.

So where does the Louisiana love in the game come from? A little bit of Louisiana Tech, and a little bit of high school football.

Philadelphia will feature a couple Louisiana-tied players, like wide receiver DeVonta Smith. He wasn't born in the state, but was raised in Amite, and led their high school team to an LHSAA state championship.

Kansas City features former Minden standout L'Jarius Sneed. While he played wide receiver at Minden, he converted to defensive back when he went on to Louisiana Tech. He played so well on defense in Ruston, the Chiefs took him in the 4th round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He's been starting in KC ever since.

Another Eagle, defensive tackle Milton Williams, wasn't born in Louisiana (Texas actually), but became a star at Louisiana Tech before getting drafted in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Then when you mix all of those ties together, and add a dash of black and gold, you get Boston Scott.

The Eagles running back was born in Baton Rouge, played high school football for Zachary, and made is way to Louisiana Tech. While at Tech, he exploded into an absolute star. He was eventually drafted by the New Orleans Saints (more Louisiana credentials), before he was acquired by the Eagles.

But there's one more big piece of meat pie to this story. Boston Scott also played middle school football in Bossier City...

In 2009, an 8th grade Boston Scoot suited up for the Green Acres Middle School Mustang football team in Bossier. His #52 generally represents a different position than his current running back spot, but the competition at the Super Bowl level is probably a little different than at Green Acres.
