In the afternoon of January 7th, shots rang out on Peach Street.

Just before noon, Shreveport police were called to the scene of a shooting involving multiple people. According to Shreveport Police Department, an altercation involving 2 groups of people, lead to a gunfight.

The two groups seem to have let bullets fly with no regard for those around them. Upon arrival, SPD found that the suspects had fled the scene, and the only victim of the shootout was a 4-year-old boy.

The child was hit in the lower part of his body. He was rushed to Ochner LSU Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be alright.

No suspects have been identified yet; the investigation is still ongoing.

Police are asking anyone with information about this shooting to contact them at 318-673-7300#3 immediately.
