Haughton Man Killed in South Bossier Crash

A Haughton man has died in a crash on Sligo Road at Bayou Loop in south Bossier City.

Louisiana State Police say J.C. Marshall, Jr., was headed east on Sligo, when his pickup truck left the roadway, hit a culvert and crashed into a tree. Marshall wasn't wearing a seat belt, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say impairment is suspected as a factor in the crash. A toxicology sample has been sent in for analysis. The wreck is still under investigation.

State police remind motorists that every occupant in a vehicle must be properly restrained, both front-seat and back-seat, day and night. Troopers say this crash serves as yet another tragic reminder of how important buckling up can be.
