Shreveport firefighter Captain Ralph Parker was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It has spread to his liver. Parker is in a fight for his life.

The Shreveport Fire Department is hosting a fish fry on Saturday March 27 to help with the medical bills which are piling up.

Parker has been a firefighter/paramedic for the Shreveport Fire Department for 30 years. But he was one of many firefighters who often went above and beyond the call of duty to help residents all across our community. This heroic man needs our help now and you can do just that on Saturday. We hope you will stop by and pick up some delicious fish to help this hero. Off duty Shreveport firefighters will be frying up the fish.

But Parker also has another wish. He wants to take his family to Disney World before he gets too sick. But his medical bills have been a strain on the family budget.

If you can't make it to the fish fry, a Go Fund Me account has been set up to help pay for the family trip and to offset some of the medical expenses. The fish fry is this Saturday beginning at 11am in front of Sam's Club on Youree Drive. The go boxes of catfish will also include hushpuppies and french fries.
