I-20 Lane Closures Guaranteed to Slow Traffic in Bossier This Week
If you normally travel I-20 West in the Bossier City area, you might want to re-think your travel route for the next few days.
In an announcement from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we learn that they are advising motorists that beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, April 4, 2023, there will be intermittent lane closures on I-20 westbound from LA 782-2 (Industrial Drive) to LA 3015 (Airline Drive) in Bossier City.
These lane closures are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 4th, Wednesday, April 5th, and Thursday, April 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day, and are necessary to allow DOTD crews to perform maintenance work on the interstate.
Of course, this work is scheduled to be performed weather permitting and according to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, there could be more severe storms moving into the area late tomorrow and early Wednesday, so this work could possibly be rescheduled, so keep an eye here on our website for information regarding that should the work be postponed.
As with all work projects like this, the Louisiana DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
