Get ready because Arkansas and Texas local and state law enforcement agencies will be out in full force starting today December, 15 until January 1, 2024. They will watch you closely to ensure you and your passengers are safe on the road this holiday season. 

This is a special high-visibility campaign as they look for drunk or under-the-influence drivers.

Think Twice Before Drinking & Driving

U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are teaming up with local police departments to encourage drivers to think twice before drinking and driving. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

Over 1,000 People Killed in December 2021 in Alcohol-Related Crashes

December is a time to be merry with family and friends but December is also can be a deadly month on the roads. Back in December of 2021 over 1,000 people were killed in
alcohol-impaired-driving crashes.

Officer Schultz with the Texarkana, Arkansas Police said in a press release,


Drunk driving isn’t just dangerous, it’s illegal. Drivers have a choice to make: Follow the law and respect their fellow drivers by refraining from drunk driving. Or, make the choice to drive drunk, put others at risk, and risk your own mortality and wellbeing.


Have a Plan Before You Head Out to Celebrate

Law enforcement agencies are urging you to always make a plan before going to a holiday celebration.

According to the NHTSA, a DUI can cost you up to $10,000. Ask for a ride home or take a taxi or call an Uber, it will be safer and much cheaper.
