Shreveport Apartment Fire Leaves One Injured
The Cypress Landing Apartment complex was the scene of an early morning fire that kept more than 30 Shreveport firefighters and paramedics busy battling heavy smoke and flames from one apartment. The morning blaze ravaged through one downstairs apartment and left two others with smoke and water damage, leaving those tenants displaced.
Shreveport Firefighters were dispatched at 7:10 a.m. and arrived on scene at 7:13 a.m. and reported smoke and flames visible from the window of a downstairs unit. Fire crews quickly determined that all occupants were out of the apartments. The fire was placed under control at 7:39 a.m. One occupant was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment of possible injuries sustained while escaping outside. No fire fighters were injured.
The incident required the use of 5 fire engines, 2 ladder trucks, 2 heavy rescue trucks, 2 battalion chiefs, 1 shift commander and 2 medic units. This fire remains under investigation by Shreveport Fire Investigators.
