Shreveport Whole Foods Evacuated Due To Fire
On Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 2:02 PM, the Shreveport Fire Department received a 911 call reporting a commercial building fire in the 1300 block of East 70th Street at Whole Foods.
Engine 9 arrived on scene within seven minutes and reported light smoke coming from the rear of the structure near the loading dock. Firefighters determined the source of the fire was a trash compactor inside the stock room. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the building was evacuated due to the presence of smoke.
One citizen was treated on scene by paramedics for smoke inhalation. No injuries to firefighters were reported. It took the efforts of twenty-seven firefighters operating eleven (11) units to bring the fire under control.
