Chances are if you are buying sausage from the grocery store you are probably reaching for this particular brand that is being recalled.
What Popular Sausage Is Being Recalled In Louisiana and Texas?
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced the recall of 35,430 pounds of Johnsonville turkey kielbasa sausage due to potential contamination with foreign materials.
The affected products, produced by Salm Partners, LLC from Denmark, Wisconsin, may contain rubber pieces, posing a health risk to consumers.
Throw This Out Immediately
According to the USDA, the recalled sausage is packaged in 12-ounce vacuum-sealed packs labeled as "Johnsonville POLISH KIELBASA TURKEY."
The affected products bear best-by dates of May 17, 2024, and May 18, 2024. Consumers can identify the recalled items by checking for the establishment number "P-32009" printed on the side of the packaging.
These products have been distributed to retail locations nationwide, raising concerns among consumers about the potential presence of foreign materials. The issue came to light when several consumers reported discovering rubber bits within the sausage.
The FSIS advises consumers to dispose of the affected sausage or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
Additionally, customers with inquiries regarding the recall can reach out to Stephanie Schafer, the Director of Global Corporate Communications for Johnsonville, by calling 888-556-2728 or emailing sschafer@johnsonville.com.
