Shreveport has had the privilege of being home to several huge, internationally-known stars. From Leadbelly to Bill Joyce, there have been a lot of people that are from or have lived in our area. But, maybe one of its best known sons is legendary rock guitarist James Burton. Burton, of course, is probably best known for his time playing in Elvis Presley and Ricky Nelson's bands but really his list of accomplishments are too many to name.

Anyway, I told you all that to tell you this: James is coming back home for a special show. The James Burton International Guitar Festival made a huge holiday announcement, they will be putting on a special Christmas concert at Margaritaville in December.

"The James Burton Christmas Concert: Memories of Elvis" show will take place at the Paradise Theater on Saturday December 8th. Not only will James be on hand to play, but Estelle Brown of the Sweet Inspirations, who toured with Elvis from 1969 until his death in 1977, will preforming as well. Plus, Mr. Burton is teasing other special guests and knowing the people James knows...there's no telling who could pop up. The super group will be performing a Christmas set of some of Elvis' favorite songs plus some classics from the iconic singer as well.

The Foundation will also be presenting guitars to service men and military veterans as well. This will be a once in a lifetime experience that you just have to be apart of.

Tickets are $30 each for general admission, and $100 each for VIP. VIP tickets grant access to a very special experience at 6pm….a ‘pre-show’ interview and Q&A session with Elvis’ close friends, James Burton, Estelle Brown and Sam Thompson, Elvis’ bodyguard and Linda Thompson’s brother. Hear personal stories regarding Elvis and have a chance to ask YOUR questions to the panel. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 14, 2018, at 10 AM. To get them, order online at www.ticketmaster.com or phone the James Burton Foundation office at 318-424-5000.

You can find more details on the event on the Margaritaville website.
