YouTube Guitarist Jared Dines Shows What Blink-182 Would Sound Like Metal
Metal fans love it loud and dig some hard rocking guitar licks, but how big is the difference between metal and what Blink-182 does musically? Before you answer, you might want to check out the video above from YouTube guitarist Jared Dines, who shows what Blink-182's songs would sound like if they were a metal act.
While Blink-182 wrote their songs to be more melodic and punk-infused, a Whitechapel shirt wearing-Dines shows us that with a change to a more metal style of playing, the tracks can come close to what you would expect from the genre.
"Adam's Song" benefits from some squealing guitar licks, "Down" becomes more of a crunchy, chugging rocker with Dines' interpretation, and a majority of the tracks all of a sudden become metal sounding tracks with the addition of Dines' riffing and some double kick drum backing. Watch as he rocks out to such tracks as "Dammit," "What's My Age Again," "All the Small Things" and "I Miss You," giving them all some metal flare without losing the primary composition.
This experiment is one of many that Dines has explored on his YouTube channel, showing his skills on guitar and drums while also delivering tracks in Djent and other various styles of metal. Check out his YouTube channel here.
