Kojima Teases Chicken Hat for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain
While everybody was chowing down on some Christmas turkey this week, Hideo Kojima teased us with a fowl, new accessory for Snake to use in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Kotaku reports that Metal Gear guru Hideo Kojima revealed a surprise during his Kojima Station broadcast this Christmas. The three-hour-long video (provided above) is filled with present-opening, movie-talk and all sorts of fun, but the really interesting part is at the stream's 2:44:00 mark. Kojima whips out a new accessory that Big Boss will have in The Phantom Pain... and it's a chicken hat. That's right, you're going from Boss, to Snake, to chicken. While the hat does look ridiculous, it still lets Snake wear his goggles and gas mask.
So what's the point of the chicken hat? Enemies will be surprised at what the hell Snake is wearing and will have a delayed reaction, making the game easier. At the same time, the hat glows in the dark. Just remember to take the hat off during the game's cutscenes.
According to this Kojima teaser, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain could be coming out on June 22, 2015. While no official release date gas been confirmed, we can still expect Big Boss to return for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC (via Steam).
