Local Superstar Kenny Wayne Shepherd Gets Star on NWLA Walk of Stars
Local blues star Kenny Wayne Shepherd is getting a star on the Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars!
Make plans now to honor our local blues/rock guitar hero, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, as he's honored in the Red River Entertainment District under the Texas Street Bridge in downtown Shreveport. The address, for those who don't know, is 450 Commerce Street Sunday, March 22, 2020, at 2 pm with his own star!
Kenny is just the 32nd inductee since the Walk began in 1997, joining other local greats like Trace Adkins, David Toms, William "Bill" Joyce, Terry Bradshaw, James Burton, Dak Prescott and more!
The Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars is all about recognizing outstanding talent from our area. Here's their mission, according to their website:
The Walk of Stars award was created to recognize individuals from northwest Louisiana who are distinguished in their professional and/or civic endeavors or who have brought recognition and attention to the area, and who have been involved in those activities for at least five years. The honorees may come from any profession or industry including, but not limited to, athletics, music, acting, business, politics, education and community service.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd is a Caddo Magnet graduate that went on to become a Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling artist. He's toured with the Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and even has an epic side project with Stephen Stills and Barry Goldberg called The Rides. Congratulations Kenny!
