Louisiana has a reputation for being a corrupt state, and now there are numbers to back the claim.

Business Insider put together a ranking of the most corrupt states based on the number of convictions of public corruption per 100,000 residents. Louisiana had the most, with nearly nine convictions per 100,000 residents.

Right behind the Pelican State were the Dakotas, with North Dakota number two and South Dakota right behind.

Among our neighbors, Arkansas was roughly mid-pack, Texas was toward the bottom and Mississippi kept Louisiana some company with its no.7 ranking.
