Madden 20 Ratings For The Dallas Cowboys Called “Controversial”
The annual release of the Madden video game is a staple of American life. The most dominant football video game franchise in history may have actually transcended "football games", and could likely be considered one of the top pure video game franchises ever. Up there with Super Mario and Tetris.
So when the player ratings are released every year, it's a news story. Players get upset, fans mock some players, and new stories are written.
When it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, you can magnify all of the things that happen with other NFL fan bases. Do you think that Dolphins fans or Bengals fans care as much about how many 90+ rated players they have? But you KNOW Cowboys fans care.
24/7Sports put out a story titled "Madden '20 reveals controversial ratings for top 15 Cowboys" which isn't wrong at all. There have been plenty of Tweets and Facebook posts sharing displeasure over these ratings. Ranging from fans who are upset that an Offensive Lineman is the team's highest rated player, to the perceived slight against Amari Cooper and Dak Prescott for their ratings.

Prescott gets an 81 rating from Madden, which puts his rating around quarterbacks Kirk Cousins (81 rating), Derek Carr (80 rating), Andy Dalton (80 rating), and Marcus Mariota (79 rating).
The top quarterback in the game's ratings is East Texas native Patrick Mahomes, who earned that spot with a historic MVP season last year. His rating is a 97 in the game, followed by the most decorated quarterback in NFL history Tom Brady with a 96. Philip Rivers (94 rating), Drew Brees (92 rating), and Andrew Luck (92 rating) round out the top 5 quarterbacks.
As far as Ezekiel Elliott's ratings go, he checks in with a 94 overall rating, which makes him the second highest rated running back, behind only Todd Gurley, who has a 97 rating.
