Mudbug Madness Preacher Hopes to Stay out of Jail this Year
Mudbug Madness kicks off on Thursday and thousands of people will converge on Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport
One of them is Ryan Keel who is an evangelist from Texarkana. He will be preaching the gospel on the sidewalk outside the festival. He was arrested for doing that last year and he says that arrest was illegal. All of the charges against him have been dropped.
He has told members of the Shreveport City Council he hopes local officials have learned that he has a right to be on the sidewalk preaching the gospel during the festival.
Why Shreveport? Keel says the Mudbug Festival draws a huge crowd and it's his chance to get his message out to more people.
