Overnight Crash Leaves One Man Dead

A late night accident leaves one man dead and two people injured. It happened at about 10:30 PM on Texas Springridge State Line Road in Caddo Parish.

According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a major crash involving two vehicles in the 9000 block of Springridge Texas State Line Road. 78-year-old Hattie Hines was driving westbound in a Nissan Altima when a GMC Envoy driven by 29-year-old Brian Fatheree of Coushatta, pulled out in front of her. The Envoy was struck on its passenger side and traveled off road where it came to rest.

The passenger in the Altima, 76-year-old Wayne Hines of Keithville, was airlifted to a local hospital but died as a result of his injuries. Fatheree and his passenger, 27-year-old Monica Williams of Keithville, both sustained moderate injuries.

Fatheree was issued citations for failure to yield and having an open container that belonged to his passenger inside his vehicle.

The crash is being investigated by the Caddo Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit.
