Watch Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine deal with the reanimated corpses of the Spencer Mansion and the most ridiculous lock system ever made in these two new videos of Resident Evil HD Remaster.

GameSpot has posted two new videos featuring gameplay footage of the HD Remaster of Resident Evil. As expected, these videos feature the same classic gameplay of the 2002 GameCube remake of RE, but upgraded to modern standards. Unfortunately, the Spencer Mansion outside Raccoon City still never upgraded its lock and key system.

Just to vaguely describe how ridiculous it is, this is what Jill did in the video: the Armor Key opens up the house's locks with the Armor Emblem on them, but the Armor Key is guarded by a lethal trap that activates when you remove it. Jill had to find a dog whistle and use it on the empty balcony frequented by the lead guard dog in order to summon it.

The guard dog had a replica Armor Key hidden on its leash so you can swap out the Armor Key with the fake to deactivate the trap mechanism and finally visit other areas of the house, doing even more elaborate quests for the other keys of the house. Despite housing a high tech bioweapons lab underneath it funded by a pharmaceutical company worth billions, the Spencer Mansion has the most ridiculous and archaic lock system we've ever seen.

Resident Evil HD Remaster is coming out for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 sometime in 2015.

If this sort of stuff creeps you out, then this 5X5 video is for you:
