I go out often. Over the summer I went out just about every weekend. Although most of my weekends out and about were spent on a boat, I did sneak into some local bars and nightclubs. I've been out all over the Ark-La-Tex and I have never once stumbled upon a sign that asked me if I felt safe.

This past weekend I went to Dallas because my best friend is officially a Family Nurse Practitioner and we celebrated her graduation. The night of the big ceremony, we decided to go out for drinks and we ended up in downtown Dallas. We discovered a bar called Jaxon, the drinks were wonderful and the overall vibe was awesome.

When I Went to the Bathroom I Saw a Sign That Stopped Me in My Tracks

"Don't feel safe?" caught my eye. Every single stall door on the outside and inside had a sign giving you direction if you felt like you weren't safe.

What did the sign tell you to do? "Approach a member of staff and 'ask for Patty." When you ask for Patty a staff member is alerted that you are feeling unsafe. You could be there with an abusive ex-partner or you could be there with someone who isn't who they said they were.
