United States Senator from Louisiana Bill Cassidy wouldn't be considered a "social media expert", but the post on his official Facebook page is riding the line between vile and genius. Here's the post:

Just in case you can't read the text above the picture of the raccoon, it says "Found this raccoon in my backyard. We ate him for breakfast."

The post went up just after 12pm today, and has gathered about 100 comments and dozens of shares. The comments vary from suggestions that Cassidy's page had been hacked, to aggressive comments about the idea behind eating a raccoon.

Some of the comment highlights include:

"Two ways to tell this is a fake post;

1. Nobody gets that close to Cassidy without making a "campaign contribution." And...

2. There's no whiff of overt racism or fearmongering."

or

"I’d love to know who your new social media intern is. Bless their heart."

or

"I believe someone needs to change their password lol"

At the time of this writing, the Facebook post has been up for over 2 hours, which might suggest that the people who think the post was an accident, or hack, might be wrong. This may actually be an actual post from the Senator.
