Four people are wounded during a shooting on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University. Shots rang out during a high school graduation that was happening at the college.

Hammond High Magnet students were graduating in SLU’s University Center. Witnesses heard shots ring out just after 8pm.

Superintendent Melissa Stilley says the shots were fired just as parents and students were leaving the activity center. Hammond Police Chief Edwin Bergeron told reporters he does not believe students or juveniles were involved. The Chief says four people were hurt, but all of them are expected to recover. He does say they have a person of interest in custody.
