Some residents of the Broadmoor neighborhood have been asking for years to move the Mardi Gras parade routes for the Krewes of Centaur and Gemini out of that neighborhood. But other residents love it and plan their year around the parades.

Some claim the parades have gotten too big to continue rolling on East Kings Highway at the Duck Pond. Leaders of both Krewes want to keep the neighborhood feel of the parade.

What do you think about taking the parades back to Bossier? Is it worth exploring?

Another big question is a possible return to Bossier City. The parades used to begin at Pierre Bossier Mall and they rolled down Airline to Barksdale and then over the Shreveport Barksdale bridge into Shreveport. But that was changed several years ago when the parades became too big for Bossier City emergency services to handle the crowds. Bossier also wanted an earlier start time but the Krewes did not want to do that.
Some have suggested using the Parkways on both sides of the river to accommodate the parades, but no serious discussions about that have happened.
