Members of the Shreveport City Council wasted no time filling the vacancy left by Council Clerk of Court, Kendra Joseph.

Joseph resigned suddenly last week submitting a scorching letter of resignation.

In her letter, she accuses council member of "fighting amongst yourselves."  She also claimed she was "severely underutilized... undermined, disrespected, and used as a target..."

The council has elected former Mayor Perkins' Chief Advisor Shanerika Flemings, as the new Clerk of Council.

This position was created by council member Dr. Alan Jackson. Jackson told KEEL News the position is needed to keep the public informed on council business.
