An arrest has been made in a case involving the shooting of a 2 year-old girl.  On December 2, 2021, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol responded to the 2700 block of Elmhurst Street in reports of a shooting. Arriving officers located a juvenile that had been struck by gunfire.

The victim, a 2 year-old girl, was rushed to the hospital where she was treated. The girl is expected to recover from the injury to her leg.
After an investigation, police were able to identify Demond Taylor Jr. as a suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. After a search for Taylor, police were able to locate him and place him under arrest. Taylor is charged with one count of Second-Degree Cruelty to a juvenile.
