Shreveport Man Gets Additional 1,214 Child And Animal Porn Charges
Last week, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Shreveport man for allegedly distributing child and animal pornography. Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator said Cyber Crimes Detectives started investigating this case in late 2022 after receiving a complaint.
After months of gathering evidence, 43-year-old Christopher Canizares was arrested at his home in the 2600 block of Sevier Street. Sheriff's Deputies say Canizares was in possession of, and distributed images and videos, of child pornography. As well as pornographic material showing sexual intercourse between humans and horses.
At that time, Canizares was arrested on four counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles and 12 counts of Sexual Abuse of an Animal. But the investigation wasn't over.
Today, Caddo Parish Sheriff Prator announced the addition of 1,214 charges agains Canizares.
According to a release from the Sheriff's Office, Canizares faces 1,206 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles, Including Multimedia Depicting 2-to-5-Year-Old Children. As well as 24 counts of Sexual Abuse of an Animal. Bringing his total count of charges to 1,230.
Canizares was already in custody at the Caddo Correctional Center as the new charges were added. He remained behind bars after his initial arrest on a $1.6 million bond.
